5 Fantastic DIY Christmas Decor

Christmas is around the corner, and all of us will be immersed in house cleaning and decoration. All of us would love to keep our houses decorated with innovative décor items and lights. There are plenty of décor options on Christmas day, available in most shops. In order to make it more interesting, we can DIY some Decors with simple and easily available materials. Decorating at home can be much fun and entertaining and can engage the whole family in the process. Some innovative and cool DIY Christmas decorations are mentioned in this blog. 

                                               

Pinecone Christmas Tree 
 
Christmas trees are one of the most significant Christmas décors. People start decorating the Christmas trees at the very beginning of the season. They put many decorative hangings on the tree and wrap around colorful lights. Making a Christmas tree at home is very easy with just a few simple materials. 
Things required – Pinecones, cardboard, corks, paint, and glue 
Steps to follow:  
  • Cut the corks into two halves and glue one piece to the pinecone. 
  • Paint the pinecones with the right shade of green at the edges. 
  • Cut out small stars from the cardboard and stick them on top of the pinecones with strong glue. 

Clothespin Angel  
An angel is yet another essential décor element for Christmas. It can be hung on Christmas trees, Doors, and on walls. It is an adorable piece of décor and can be made very quickly.  
Things required – Clothespins, Marker pens, White yarn, boa/cotton, felt and pipe cleaners, wooden knob, and glue. 
Steps to follow:  
  • Paint one side of the knob with black or brown for the hair and let it dry. 
  • Paint the bottom of the clothespin ½ inch in black to make the shoes for the Angel.  
  • Take the white yarn and wrap it around the clothespin to make the body of the Angel and tie a pretty knot at the back.  
  • Stick a white boa cloth or net around the Angel to make a beautiful tutu. 
  • Next, in order to make the wings, fold the felt and cut a wide half-heart shape, which, when opened, will look like a perfect pair of wings.  
  • In order to support the wings to the clothespin, glue a half-pipe cleaner to the clothespin and stick the wings on it.  
  • Draw the eyes and mouth of the Angel on the wooden knob with a black and red marker. Stick the knob to the closed side of the clothespin. 
  • Use the other side of the pipe cleaner to make a loop for the halo. Bend the other end down and stick it to the head. 
 
Snowman with Socks
Apart from making a snowman out of snow, it can be made out of simple things like a sock and can be hung inside the house as a part of the décor. It can be a beautiful addition to the Christmas decorations in the house. The following are the ways to make a snowman.
Things required – socks (1 white and 1 color of your choice), rubber bands, buttons, rice, glue, ribbon, paint or markers, and red or orange pom balls.
 Steps to follow:  
  • Fill the white socks with rice with a considerable amount. 
  • Once you feel the size of the snowman is enough tie the top of the sock with a rubber band.
  • Place another rubber band in the middle of the snowman to a more upper side to form the head. 
  • Next, glue the buttons to the bottom of the snowman in a line
  • Using a black marker, draw the eyes and mouth of the snowman on the top portion.
  • Next use stick two pom balls on top of each other and stick them as a nose to the snowman.
  • Cut the closed end of the colored sock for the hat of the snowman. And place it on the head of the snowman.
  • Wrap a ribbon on the neck as a scarf for the Snowman and finish the piece.
                                                         

Glittering Christmas Wreath 
We can see a lot of houses with Christmas wreaths hung on the doors during Christmas. It’s a beautiful piece of décor and attraction. Apart from greenery, wreaths can also be made out of flashy and shining ribbons. 
Things required – 1 roll of shining and glittery golden ribbon, acrylic paints, stencil brush, scissors, pins, and ornaments.
 Steps to follow:  
  • Pin up one end of the ribbon to the wreath and start rolling up the other end.
  • Add pins to the wreath here and there so that it doesn’t fall apart and gets messy.
  • Cut the ribbon according to your wish to use it for hanging the wreath. Also, make a pretty bow on it.
  • Cut two ribbons for about 10 inches to hang in the bottom. 
  • Pin up the bow to the top of the wreath and the two ribbons to the bottom. Add the ornaments to the wreath and finish the process.
Sparkling Mason Jars 
Mason Jars are yet another unique and beautiful piece of decoration. You can make any number of mason jars and place them with fairy lights, and it would be the best and most attractive addition to the décor.
Things required - Jars (small size preferably), Epsom Salt, glitter, greenery of your choice, twine, tea lights, and glue.
 Steps to follow:  
  • Add 1 cup of Epsom salt and 1 tablespoon of glitter to a plate and mix them well. You can add more if you wish to make more jars.
  • Next, take the Jar and apply a layer of glue around the outer side of the jar. Ensure to add a thin layer or the glue may start dripping once you add the salt.
  • Using a brush, gently sprinkle the Epsom salt evenly on the Jar. 
  • Place the jars on top of a clean paper or cloth and leave them to dry for several hours or overnight for best results.
  • Cut the greenery of your choice and stick them to the top of the jar once it is dry. 
  • Then tie the twine around the top of the jar and make a pretty bow at the end.
  • Add tea lights or rice lights to the jar to add more beauty to it.
